Industry & Investment NSW

The Department of Primary Industries is now part of the Department of Industry & Investment, trading as Industry & Investment NSW.  The new department was formed to build diversified industries and create jobs as well as provide better services to the people of the state through more integrated services and less red tape. NSW Department of Primary Industries acts in partnership with industry and other public sector organisations to foster profitable and sustainable development of primary industries in New South Wales.

The Department promotes the sustainable development of primary industries for the benefit of all of Victoria.

DPI uses a collaborative approach to influence improvements in industry performance and to encourage the adoption of new technologies and development practices. Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research 

The Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research (TIAR) is a joint venture between the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE).
The partnership has brought together the human and physical resources of Tasmania’s two major agricultural research and development providers to create a centre of excellence in cool climate agricultural research. TIAR’s primary objective is to ensure that all its research, development, extension, education and training programs are of high quality and meet the needs and priorities of Tasmania’s agricultural industries. TIAR’s activities are funded by the Tasmanian government, the University of Tasmania, agricultural research, development and extension organisations, resource management organisations, other granting bodies and  management.
